Epictetus

"I am always content with what happens; for I know that what God chooses is better than what I choose."

apologize in you prayers

We shouldn’t ignore God, especially because we have sinned. Nor is it wise to try to deceive or lie to Him either. It simply can’t be done.

You can’t con God and get away with it, even if you use charisma and humor. God may play along if you use enough imagination and energy just to see what outrageously ridiculous thing you’ll do next. He also cuts some slack to the profusely weak witted and sluggish students as I can personally attest to. Of course it is imperative that you do no harm to others in a serious manner or you will cease to amuse Him. But eventually he calls us all accountable for our actions thus mercy and forgiveness is still our only hope for salvation.

Just say you are sorry. And mean it. God has an infinite capacity for forgiveness.

prayer

May God bless you with discomfort at easy answers, half truths, superficial relationships, so that you will live deep within your heart.

May God bless you with anger at injustice, oppression and exploitation of people so that you will work for justice, equality and peace.

May God bless you with tears to shed for those who suffer from pain, rejection, starvation and war, so that you will reach out your hand to comfort them and change their pain into joy.

And may God bless you with the foolishness to think that you can make a difference in the world, so that you will do the things which others tell you cannot be done.

When I Say

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I am saved."
I'm whispering "I was lost!"
That is why I chose this way.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need someone to be my guide.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
and pray for strength to carry on.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
and cannot ever pay the debt.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
my flaws are all too visible
but God believes I'm worth it.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain
I have my share of heartaches
which is why I seek His name.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I do not wish to judge.
I have no authority.
I only know I'm loved.
